Android (Google Phone) Demo

Google released a video showcasing Android, the Google initiated Open Handset Operating System. Android is a Linux-based open source mobile operating system which is looking promising and expected to be widely available through all the major Mobile devices from starting of 2009 onwards.

In the video Sergey Brin and Steve Horowitz discuss the availability of the SDK, that it will be open source in the future, and demo applications on the Android platform.

The features covered in the video demonstration are

  1. Beautiful and Intelligent Touch Sensitive User Interface
  2. High Quality Graphics applications like Globe, and Quake like Games
  3. Messenger like applications for Chatting on Mobiles with beautiful alerting user interface
  4. High Speed Internet Access with wider and clear display
  5. Integration of Google Maps information with Contacts and easy Google Maps accessing

Also Google announced Android Developer Challenge that will award $10 million to developers who build great applications for Android. If you are developer, why don't you try your luck?
